To One Who Hates Poetry Poem by Sandra Feldman

To One Who Hates Poetry

You're right,
Poetry can be very depressing,
For Poets leave no stone of life untouched,
And Yes, sometimes Life is sad and hurts so much!
Yet, there are Roses to be grown,
Seas to open, fields to roam,
Roads to discover that lead to Rome,
There is still Hope that humanity,
One day will live in peace,
And that the Whole World will be enlightened,
As once was Ancient Greece

Beware of the road to Rome... Has any culture ever been enlightened? Perhaps a few souls within their home Rome offers institutionalized enlightenment, sounds as good as a moldly cheese sandwich!
