Tomorrow Is The Christmas Day (2016) Poem by NHIEN NGUYEN MD

This morning, outside temperature is about 40

Small rain drops fall from the sky while random breeze flows

This rain is not a heavy shower

But long steady rain helps to melt winter ice.

Surface of my swimming pool has been frozen

Now with falling rain, water starts to spread.

Under the shade of a giant tree in front of my house

A pair of blue jays hop and scratch wet soil with their claws.

Soil is now soft so it's easy for them to find worms.

After eating, they perch on this tree to clean their feathers.

Tomorrow is the Christmas day

However, warmer weather turns clouds into rains.

TRƯỚC NGÀY LỄ CHÚA GIÁNG SINH 2016


Sáng nay nhiệt độ bốn mươi

Mưa rơi hạt nhẹ, tình cờ gió bay.

Mưa này chẳng phải mưa rào

Mưa lâu nước ngấm, đá dần tan ra.

Hồ bơi mặt nước đóng băng

Bây giờ mưa xuống, nước loang mặt hồ.

Trước nhà dưới gốc cây to

Blue jay một cặp loi choi chân cào.

Đất mềm chim dễ tìm sâu

Ăn xong chim lại đậu cành rỉa lông.

Ngày mai Christmas đây rồi

Trời thì qúa ấm, mây trời thành mưa.
