Tongue Twisters Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Tongue Twisters

There is nothing more deceiving,
Than people who make up lies.
Biting like gnats and fleas.
Then leave an itch.
Mysteriously left to scratch.
Before flying unrecognized,
To someone else in disguise.
Victimizing others not to realize,
These tongue twisters...
Could be their brothers, sisters,
Mothers, fathers and 'faithful' friends.
Claiming to be the closest of allies.
And protecting back watchers.
Although hiding the sharpest of knives.
Ready to use to then deny,
On who they practice...
Their acquired backstabbing skills.

From one to another,
Like mosquitos on a mission...
Sucking blood and infesting trust.
With an innocence left to disbelieve,
Such a presence of a performance of sincerity...
Has obtained an expertise to lie.
Until caught like a rat trapped.
By those awakening to remember and connect,
Who has been saying what to others told.
To know where it came from.
And on which tongue is quick to twist,
The truth to do it for attention to get.

"Not only did you find it easy,
To lie to me.
But you found it even easier,
To lie on me.
Then to claim to others to have believe,
Publicly.
To me you were only expressing genuine love.
How stupid to you do I look? "

-Well...
I don't want to answer that.
But...
I didn't think my lieing on you,
And on others too.
Would be taken so seriously.
This is what I've been taught to do.-
