Too Easy Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Too Easy

These days for many,
Would be for them too easy.
Sitting back to gloat.
Knowing not that long ago,
That had told some folks...
A feeding upon delusions as treats.
Would someday cause them...
To become sickened.
With it too late to refuse the temptation.

These days for many,
Who faithfully stayed away...
From sweetened and free delusions to feed.
With a keeping their eyes wide open to see,
An addicting of minds...
Blinded by hypocritical misdeeds,
Performed openly.
As folks allowed themselves to dose.
While criminals were stealing,
Every sacred belief...
Those have had to deceive.
Yet...disbelieved!

Too easy these days for many it would be,
To say...
"WE TOLD YOU SO."
But...
For many these days who have decided to sit,
Observing the ones...
Implementing division, racism and conflicts.
As if this for them,
Would be with ease to do.
Have discovered these days,
Themselves being attacked.
And not by those they had deluded with treats.
But by the very ones they threw under a bus.
Disgusted and appalled.
And prepared to tell all,
About what it is they know.
With a doing to expose...
Those picked to sit on seats at the top.
Are scandalous deceivers.
And proof of it they've got!

These days for many it would be too easy,
To say,
"Those crooks you picked to represent your interest?
Have only one interest.
And representing yours,
Has never been on their agenda."

These days that would be too easy to do.
Yet...
Unnecessary to gloat.
When greed to feed minds of those corrupted,
Eventually gets them...
Handcuffed and busted.
To be publicly ushered to prison!
With lots of time to be given.
Found to find not too easy.
