Too Thorough And Complete Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Too Thorough And Complete

Everyone involved,
Has admitted their wrong doing.
And misleading activities to deceive.
With detailed evidence,
To provide the disbelievers.
In the hopes to end,
All conflicts and division.
They've created to start,
From the very beginning.
Yet the judge and jury can not decide,
On the appropriate punishment.

"What is there to decide?
They have admitted their misdeeds.
The evidence has been presented.
And...
Openly they have provided the proof.
With witnesses who have validated,
Every word they've stated...
To have done this videotaped.
What's the problem? "

The process!

"The process? "

Yes.
The substance and abundance of evidence,
Has left the judge and jury...
Questioning the investigation.
It seems the investigation,
Had been too thorough and complete.
Leaving them suspicious,
The ones admitting their guilt...
Have done this on purpose.
With a wish to be sentenced to prison.
As if to expect it!
And this has never happened before.

"So.
Lock them up.
What's there to deliberate? "

Truth. The honesty of it.
The effects this will have on the public.
And...
The overwhelming devastation,
This public admission will do...
To the majority of the people,
Who have been deluded most of their lives.
Honesty and truth to accept,
Could create civil unrest and total chaos!

"Wow.
So right you are.
What a dilemma these days we face."

Not only that.
Think of what that decision to make,
Will do to the economy.
Gone will be capitalism as we know it.
