Tormented Times Poem by Sandra Feldman

Insincerely and purposely
We are lied to,
Being taken for fools!
In an Ocean
Of floundering lies
Swayed back and forth
By disingenuous tides,
Helplessly distraught,
By nightmarish cries!

Black lilies,
Were painted white
To dissimulate and hide
The tide that will,
Engulf us all.

Now the serpent is fed
And free to spread
The poisonous narrative,
Throughout the land,
And there are none
To stop it from rearing
Its ugly, destructive head.

As our nation slips and slides
Going down,
In a catastrophic and hideous
Way,
While political, stonemen,
Stand there, having nothing
To say.....

Not even trying
To stop the tide
That will eventually
Take all,
Blood, sweat and tears
So historically played
And lived
Far, Far, Away.
