Touching Everyone With The Burden Of Humanity Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Touching Everyone With The Burden Of Humanity

Rhythms jumping and jiving to rock and roll music,
people up and dancing as it switches back and forth
in depths of country-western music also.

Hearts overjoyed as rhythms flow and spread over every-
one here tonight at the Wagon Yard, sensing an intense
measure of notes, tones and tempos.

Rushing head-long into sounds of music, creating colors
as they soar and pop into the atmosphere where this
poet sees and interprets them quickly into poetry.

Wonder and curiosity is elevated beyond what we know
so far here on earth, separating self from the tur-
moil and stress that keeps filtering through everyone.

Without changing any feelings, letting individuals feel
the emotions of hardship, sacrifice and circumstances
to touch each one with this burden of humanity.

Its life all at once through rhythms and falling out
into poetry at times as an afterthought, just to keep
us from forgetting that we're only human after all.
