Train up a child in the right way,
Tell him about the Lord's command;
Allow him to know the gospel,
And let his mind just understand.

Usher him to the Lord's temple
To attend the great gathering;
Children's worship service is good,
Faith in the true God it does bring.

Lesson about giving respect
To parents and elders is nice;
It should be taught to the youngster
So he becomes brilliant and wise.

Never let him go with bad peers,
Nor let him do devilish deed;
Never let him turn a deaf ear
To the Lord's call that he should heed.

Discipline him for his blunder,
Strict upbringing will form the kid;
Punish him if he disobeys
The rules and laws that are valid.

When the weather is so stormy,
Instruct him to fervently pray;
When he is old, he will not quit,
Train up a child in the right way.
