Trained Skunks Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Trained Skunks

Finding further evidence of those,
Capable to stoop to newer lows.
Have had trained skunks claiming,
Not a wish or want to be involved...
In the spraying to waste their stench.
On folks no one,
Would notice the difference done.
Regardless of the importance,
The lesson believed will teach...
Ones discovered,
To be beneath anything humanity has seen.

And these skunks refuse,
To lose their reputations.
Since they are the kind of skunks,
More wanting to keep...
Their integrities intact.
Than betray their own kind,
For mind blowing celebrity.
With a wish to make it known,
There are still some species God has made...
Unwilling to do anything for a dollar.
Or an attention to get.

Especially...
Just to leave a smell quickly left,
Remembered to identify.
Knowing themselves not to be,
Into collusion or corruption.
Or have a need,
To waste their toxic spray...
On those who have deceived 'all' beliefs!
