Transcience (By St. Thiruvalluvar In Tamil) Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Transcience (By St. Thiruvalluvar In Tamil)

331.It is base for the stupids to think of temporal things
As stable ones.
332.Amassing wealth likens the gathering of a crowd in a dance hall.
As the crowd disperses, wealth ceases.
333.Wealth is transient in nature. When you get it
Do acts of charity at once.
334.The sword of Time cuts away life as a day is cut part by part.
Realise the truth that life rests on the sharp side of the sword.
335.Before the tongue fails to move and hiccough comes up
Make haste to do deeds of virtue before death.
336.This temporal world owns the pride
That a man who was yesterday is no more today.
337.Not a single crore but crores of thoughts burst in minds
Of those who aren’t certain if they live through a whole day.
338.The friendship between body and soul is akin to
A chick hatches out leaving the broken shell aside.
339.Death is like sleeping.
And waking out of it is birth.
340.For the soul which exists single in a corner of the body
Not a settled home there is.
