Traveling To You Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Traveling To You

I learned to drive sitting beside you
I didn't really care too much for the rules,
I mean I wasn't dumb.
An idiot maybe.
I learned simply because you paid me
a visit.
No matter how familiar the place,
with you it felt brand new.
The winding curve of your smile,
& how you made the angels
play catch up.
It didn't matter who was around,
You made me feel like I was the only one there.
Not aimlessly staring out the window
wondering which exit will be the last.
You never felt far,
Especially when it was me traveling to you
