Treacherous Waters Poem by Jeremy Horsford

Treacherous Waters

I lost love in the sea of loneliness, seeking a flicker of hope to replenish my fading star.

Early on in my travels, I was unable to navigate with life's compass, however this long voyage has left me sea beaten, critical of shark infested treasures.

The adventure seems to have sunk along with my weary crew.

Land is no different...

The desert is rife with lifeless bodies; surrounded by death.

Death has become a familiar face to seek love, as life's damsels have left me with emptiness.

The void unfilled, my frequency unmatched, although I have seen colour amongst the grey.

Those emeralds as deep as the ocean, have set sights on a whirlpool of belief, but also the unknown.

I am an environmental prisoner...dare I break free?

As foolish as it may seem, I decide the route...however my environment dictates the journey.

I close my eyes and allow the unknown to take hold and direct me to an unwritten leaf.

Those who are as deep as the ocean lure me in...

In the hope...

Love will aid me in navigating my dreams.
