Trust Poem by Reva Kern

Trust

What! Without your caring
About the ocean,
Who would reprimand?
You want your place on board
My last ship in order to tell
Colombus that he found his world -
You do not wait, child, that he return!

In your quivering arms
I have put my fair head -
I have drunk your fiery spirit
In my broad breast -
And like the fisherman
seeing the pearl
Under the wave
In your charming look,
I have seen your naked heart

Be blessed forever
For this sublime faith -
Without dreading the streams
I would brave the abyss
Since I have your love
Like a star from the sky

And my name will remain
Triumphant and sonorous -
In the end
In a thousand years,
The land again will know
O my adored angel,
The color of your eyes!
