Trusting In What I Know Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Trusting In What I Know

Feeling like a prisoner at times, people not thinking I can
do everything for different reasons, thinking I should rest.

That's not what I want to do, the world is out there and I
want to be in and see every part of it.

Carefully, I always go, curiosity taking me out beyond what
others think or say.

Finding beauty and answers sometimes when doing what I want,
going alone in spite of the opinions of others.

Keeping self free in this way, leaving all their doubts by
the wayside and trusting in what I know intuitively.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Having gone to India alone, not listening to anyone, all the negative things they told me didn't matter, I knew intuitively that I was meant to go there! So glad I did, it was the most amazing time of my life! Don't let others stand in the way of your happiness, take it from me, go it alone, you'll be glad you did.
