Turned Back For You Poem by Thomas Plotz

Turned Back For You

Shadow darken under bridge

Sunset beam, casting gleam

Water angulation movements, of choppy waves,
Slow and yet the wind blows with a pulsating, intermittent beat at best,

Water reflection still distorted, tazed and smeared with the painter's brush
Then with quiet hush, the Sun did set and the light turned to dusk

But I still love you, and that won't change, if I have a say,

I stayed a bit longer, as dusk became night and
Stars began to shine once more

Then I saw who I missed, upon my passing of ya'll
The names did finally come,
But then we weren't there
