Turning Into Stone Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Turning Into Stone

Rating: 5.0

Loneliness; a pain from feeling insufficient
Looking for an explanation…feeling deficient
Love fades as oxygen depletes from a longing
Cold numbness replaces the warmth of belonging

The floor evaporates beneath a weakened stance
While relinquishing all hopes for another chance
The curtain that descends is made of melancholy
Dark thoughts and suicide are the devil’s folly
