The War is intensifying day by day, hour by hour
everywhere is dread, debris and deaths escalating;
apartments get plummeted like harvest stalks
families getting diverted from unity and harmony;

like forest fires that burn every bush and shrub
bombs keep exploding and destroying every hub;
for whom is this land and for whom are those homes
that have no peace nor joy, no people nor hope?

and as vengeance keeps flapping its wings,
will this war in Ukraine keep erasing every glimpse
of towns and cities which were so beautiful
and so serene once upon a time?

and as terror and horror keeps magnifying,
no one cares about humanity and dignity
that a country has to have and hold patriotically
as one nation keeps helping another to inflict defeat;

how long will war reign with its mercilessness
how long will people suffer and die or get injured?
will human minds not feel a change in discretion
will hearts of sympathy never open its chambers?

or will those eyes of Ukrainians keep watching
with distress the terror and tragedies around them
that as they sleep a bomb keeps exploding every hour
taking down one friend, one relative or one neighbor?

Yet life around the world keeps moving like a wind
while Ukraine is swiveling and fighting back
to retrieve its abode of peace and solace,
so that it can reconcile family unity and brotherhood.
