Un-Named Poem by cheryl davis miller

Un-Named

To remain un-named
in the midst of it all,
leaves an empty place
and bitterness like gall.

Try to understand
but it escapes my mind.
For cause and effect
has never been defined.

I stay in the dark
as to reason or rhyme,
to be left un-named
with no mention of crime.

To mention my pain
just brings on fresh disdain.
'You should not complain,
smile and nameless remain.'
