Unborn Child. Poem by Oscar Munir

Unborn Child.

Dear unborn child,
I don't know whether you are a girl or boy,
And I'm not going for a scan to find out, I love surprises,
Your mummy and I have already done shopping for you,
Bought some pink clothes in case you are a princess and some blue ones if you are a prince,
We are all excited about your coming you have no idea.

Your cradle is ready, your toys are idly waiting for you as well,
It's a long wait but we are praying and patient,
Please be strong my child and keep fighting to come to us,
Mummy is strong but she needs your support as well when the time comes,
I know it's warm and you feel safe inside there but,
Mummy and I will dress you up in the warmest of clothes and we'll guide and protect you while here.

Dear unborn child,
Sometimes mummy is sick and weak because of you but she still smiles,
When she thinks about holding you in her arms she always gets better,
I wish I could give you company while inside there but that's impossible dear one,
Keep in mind that Daddy and Mummy are eagerly waiting for you so please don't hold back,
We love you before you are born, we are going to love you more when you get here that I promise.
