Sitting here under a tree
I am yet to make a decree
Whether to move or stay
My mind is on the sway
The heat is out on display
It means I must not stray
Since I am feeling so free
Under my beautiful tree
It's shading me from sun
The heat today is no fun
No sign of cooling down
Grass around, is turning brown
The need for rain seems in vain
Dryness leaving all its stain
There is going to be
A shortage of grain
For the year ahead
That's the thing to dread
The sun is extremely hot
Under a shady tree is my lot
Maybe more than others got
Sitting here under a tree

This is so beautiful. A nice even flow of words..so much melody. A very well-crafted n poetical work. Trees can be great inspiration. Sitting under the shade of a tree has been very rewarding, I must say. I love the content n the tone of the poem.
down to your minimum's and facing drought yet still grateful for what you've got. very strong and steadfast faith in God's Plan's and mercy. what a NOBLE HEART AND SOUL YOU GOT THERE
The blessing of a tree. Wonderfully expressed in this melodious poem. So many times I live without taking the time to truly enjoy these so very natural pleasures of life. Every day so many blessings come our way, but to be fully aware of them and then pour them in nice verses to share these experiences with the world, that is truly poetic. Excellent work!
In the sweltering heat, sitting under a tree in its cool shade is such a relief! Summer heat is escalating every year. The green vegetation is turning brown because of extreme heat! This is exactly the situation in our part of the country! Enjoyed this beautifully rhyming poem painting the peak summer scene in all its fierceness!
