Unfortunate, Yet... Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Unfortunate, Yet...

Unfortunate, yet...
Eye opening to see.
Those connected to wealth.
And 'leaders' among the elite.
Are the least to depend upon,
For wise and competent decisions to make.
If not associated to a feeding of greed.
Or the welfare of humanity.
To 'collectively' agree,
This should be a priority.

Unfortunate, yet...
It takes a crisis of a virus,
To expose those and their hypocrisies.
Making it clear to make it known,
Whose interests are sincere.
With this to witness and made shown.
The value of pretense.
And materialism to flaunt.
More to impress with it.
Than a doing all that one can,
Capable and in a position...
Affording this to do.
Will express a getting upset,
Over the economy.
Than they will to come to the aid,
Of those sacrificing their lives...
Doing the best they can,
To save the lives of their fellowmen.
With minimal medical supplies.
They should not demand, beg or request.
From the ones proving they could care less!

"Your comments?
Extremely offensive and appalling."

-Thank you.
And all this time,
I had no idea...
My contribution made to your activities,
You would even notice.-
