Ungrateful Bastard - Poem by Melanie Emikohe

a monkey on a leash
knuckle-walking on a pole
flashed me a buddy face
so I tossed him a banana.

I inched closer
so I could give him a pat
all full and leery
he gifted me a scratch.

He could not trust a gentleman as he might have been a victim of so many unkind men. An interesting poem, liked it. (Report)Reply

knuckle-walking, buddy face this is great stuff Melanie! I feel like I'm trapped in a cartoon with you! And you're the one with the nerve to give him a pat! This is such a goof I love it! (Report)Reply

A monkey with a temper! Nice, amusing poem! Of course I wasn't the one who got scratched by the monkey, so I can find it amusing ! (Report)Reply

Some childhood memory of the 80's about small monkeys people used to keep as pets. Thank you Kostas.
