Unhappily Ever After - Poem by Brittney Pennington

its not my fault I just wanted a prince charming
so i skipped a few pages but instead of waiting for my frog
I kissed a dog and for a moment I was fooled

he know how to waltz
and he know all the sweet things to say
he held my hand and kissed me gently

but instead of leading me towards the light
he only showed me the dark and it wasn’t
long till his hand left mine and found my face
