Enchanting land of Kerala
Beckons one to visit sometime
A tour brings one to the city
Of Tiruvananthapuram in south.

Great temple here devoted
To Lord Vishnu was built
In about eighth century by
The great rulers of Travencore.

The Lord in yogic pose as
Anantha Padmanabha
Allows dedicated devotees
To visit Him and pray.

He's relaxed on his lively bed
Eternal lotus projecting magically
From His navel cavity where
Brahma, the creator stays eyes closed.

His right hand freely hanging down
With tip of his finger touching Siva Linga
Inverted hemisphere on a cylindrical form
Power that leads to process of creation.

The Infinite One is seen
In infinite forms as one perceives
The gigantic form in granite's
Truly a magnificent representation.

The feeling one develops
In the presence of the Omnipresent
Is serene humble feeling
Being part of the universe of creation.
