Unknown Poem by Nell Sheridan

When all is lost, only your shadow, offers the hunted opulence,
When friends, show false loyalty, at their own convenience,
When your mind, abandons you, thewolf waits by the door,
When that final step, seems to far, to reach the safety of shore,
Your blind faith, wanes mercilessly, seeking idle solitude,
When life becomes, amundane chore, predominantly eschewed,
Your white fades, to black, your is god left awkwardly silenced,
No more pleasant thoughts, life remains unfairly unbalanced,
In the face of despair, your shadow offers you no solace,
When constant maintenance,in all of life, is just pretence,
Who will hold you? , through your, darkest hour,
Who will hear you? ,when your all alone, in your ivory tower,
Who will love you? , when darkness, banishes your light,
Who will defend you? , in your moments, feeling contrite,
I will hold you, throughout, the endlessdarkness,
I will hear you, word for word, regardless howpointless,
I will love you, when god is but a shadow, while you stand alone,
Yes I will love you, despite the fact, to you I am unknown,
This stranger feels your need, your asking why? And how can this be? ,
In answer to you, I would simply say, " because you are worth it to me".
