Unknown To Come Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Unknown To Come

A headache unknown to come,
Seldom announces its arrival.
To allow anyone to take precaution.
Or prepare for the effects,
Of its severity to expect.

Then suddenly,
Without a clue or warning...
It is there.
Making its presence felt and known.
And taking its time,
Found to find and prioritize...
By others stunned and surprised,
Their focus has been directed upon...
How best to get rid of it.
Afterall...
It's just a simple headache.
Right?

With this done to do.
Without knowing which remedy,
Is better than another to use.
The situation begins to become complex.
No one expected.
Especially when this one headache,
Remains to stay longer than anticipated.
To eventually get the neighbors,
Social media and popcorn munchers involved.
Trying to solve...
What to them thought to have been,
A minor event.
Unsuspecting this one headache to become,
The greatest mystery to witness.
With lots of drama.
Shocking plots.
New characters introduced,
On a daily basis.
More twists and turns.
That would make Sherlock Holmes,
And Watson left exhausted.

"This is too unreal.
To disbelieve the reality of it."

If I had my druthers,
I would call this phenomenon...
'The Escalator Chronicles'.
To sub-title it,
'From Heaven Came The Hell'.
