Unwilling To Listen Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Unwilling To Listen

Unwilling to listen.
With time given to comprehend.
Or attempts made to pay attention.
Will come one day to have it wished,
That time once had...
To at least 'pretend' to hear,
Words to say...
Yet refuse to hear them heard.
Could have prevented to save,
A can of worms to open.
And maggots produced from rotten meat,
Released to spread to destroy a feast.
Leaving nothing no one can do,
With money or status to eliminate...
What was created.
From just a few seconds,
Of time to ask and request...
Just to be heard and not be rejected.

Time that comes to go,
Never returns to redo...
That which has been permitted done!
