Up To And Including

It's up to you how things go down
It's up to me to say things as they are
It's up to both of us to find common ground
It's up to us to go that far
Lending each other ears
and time to speak
and doing so without fear.

Some think its up to them
That the other is up to no good
The situation obtaining is up to them to blame
And that what they are up to is understood
And yet if you wear someone else's shoes
your blameworthiness in the instance
may last the distance too

It's up to you
It's up to me
It's up to us
And including
that resolutions are not achieved by blowing hot and cold
rather by weighing the merits of what you are told
Otherwise if your outcome is foretold
situations are fore stalled

The resolution of conflict is dependent on the bigger man
Those rare people willing to delay a revolution
Emphasizing the meeting of minds
Not the meeting of mines
They have the skill to convince the ostensibly invincible
projects and long term goals are immiscible
that peace is up to both
not up to one party
and including the smallest unit
up to the largest
up to and including.
