Up To The Task Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Up To The Task

Rating: 5.0

Just keep on stepping.
With your head erect.
Forget the past.
A past to have lived and had.
What is done today to do,
Do it the best you can.
Know that your future has,
Everything at your hands.
And you mind,
Commands.
If you stop.
Sitting back on your rack.
Believing somebody owes you.

Keep on stepping.
With your head held high.
Don't be afraid to stumble.
Or be seen to make efforts tried.
Get up off those knees.
And dry any tears cried.
Blood, sweat and tears.
Is a part of everyone's life.
No one walks,
On their path that has...
Everything sugarcoated and nice.

Know whatever it is you get,
Comes with some sacrifice.
Nothing is worth to value,
If handed to you day and night.
Make your steps with your head erect.
Decide you are up to the task.
Get up off your rack and fast.
To stop.
Believing what you get.
Somebody else owes it to you.

Get up off your rump and dump,
Whatever it was from your past to have had.
Get up off your rack and fast.
Your future is here and it's not going last.
Forever.
No future appears,
To be what is forever.
