Usher It And Shine - The New Year Of Life Poem by Bernedita Rosinha Pinto

Usher It And Shine - The New Year Of Life

Rating: 5.0

In your big little mind
discard not the aspirations you have
but uphold the principles you respect,
conceal not the boldness you want to display
but reveal it with honesty and out-rightness.
Store in the chambers of your heart
the pleasantness of memories of the past
the greatness of friendships you gathered or lost
the holiness of the Gods within your soul
for it will help you to cast away
the wickedness that surrounds your might
the helplessness that suppresses your right;
be brave to tell them that life is not an estuary
where you will allow injustice to enter your tranquility;
be a mathematician of your life and calculate
who and what minus why and when;
be an astrologer and choose your own stars
discover what luck and fortune can do to you,
be a physician, a geographer, a writer
divert what is unhealthy or irrelevant
select what is best for yourself to be fit
travel as wide as the globe
and as you do all this, write on the book of time
your adventures, your achievements,
and compare them to those to whom you listen
that is when you will know you can make a difference
to yourself and your own subjects of life;
you can score your own tests and trials,
you can prepare your own progress report
and as you do all this, you will know your input
was your own plan of action out of your own potential.
