Vinhie´s Lied.... Poem by Sylvia Frances Chan

Vinhie´s Lied....

Vinhie's Lied....

Opper-de-pop
het brood is op
met de lekkere thaise pindakaas
kom op lieve Vinhie, smullen maar, jij bent de baas

Mmmmmm, yummy yummy
de overheerlijke thaise pindakaas
kom op Vinhie, eten maar
nog twee hapjes, dan ben jeklaar

Op, op, op! Opperdepop
alles is op!
Goed zo lieverd, jij kan goed eten
dit zal Oma nooit vergeten!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This "Song" we call Vinhie´s Song in Dutch and while he is eating his breakfast or luncht, we say most of the time, or we sing this Song that now I call " Vinhie´s Song". He eats then his breakfast or lunch
excellently.

Vinhie has become two years old on last 4th of July
and is very playful now. He "talks" a very lot, but
he can copy all words we say to him
and of course, the words a two years old grandson speaks out,
sounds oft funny, but we play with the words he uses he has learned from us, his parents and I in the fortnight I had been there.

"There" means this time, in Thailand, in the Thai town called Mae Sot.
Last year he was in Ghana, Africa, since his mum finished her specialism in Tropical diseases.

This time Vinhie is in Thailand with his parents, because she applied for a refugees job, no salary only pocket-money as we call that in Dutch "zakgeld".
Her husband, my youngest son accompanies her, that means he has left behind his specialist´s practice in the hospital and gets no income,
instead he cares for Vinhie in their teakwood home in Mae Sot, Thailand. She has chosen a job for 6 months. I have great respect for him, he had done so many things to help his wife get that volunteering job, then here she can practice her specialism in Tropical Diseases.

During my stay at their home, I enjoyed the cosiness and love a father shares with his son. This I cannot retell. Greatest enjoyment and blessings I have got. As things have gone, I know for sure that herein God is present with them all the time. I thanked and still do the Lord in my daily prayers.

Suvarnabhumi has inspired me a very lot
and of course Mae Sot, the place appointed by God
Thank you so much for reading and thinking with me,

sincerely,

Sylvia Frances Chan
Grandmum of Vinhie is of course very proud of him
her first toddler-grandson.
