Visitation Poem by Eila Mahima Jaipaul

Visitation

Rating: 5.0

climbing from heaven
near newborn dawn
taking care
not to break the kiss of slumber
I watch cradled rapture
with hair, of freshly rumpled quality
and a reassured tick of brow
on a face that says
yes
the dream is of you.
there never really was any doubt
that you smiled in sleeping
