Voyez, la tombe d'un homme mechant,
Et pres d'elle, un spectre severe.

Une jeune fille baissee avec des violettes vint, Mais le spectre lui prit la main.
'Pas de fleurs pour lui', dit-il.
La jeune fille pleura:
'Ah, je l'aimais.'
Mais le spectre, menacant et renfrogne,
'Pas de fleurs pour lui.'

Maintenant, c'est comme ci-
Si le spectre etait juste,
Pourquoi la jeune fille pleurait-elle?
