Walking The Circle Poem by Scarlett Treat

Walking The Circle

Rating: 4.6

The sun was shining so brightly,
Shooting beams and arrows of light...
Like a spotlight, pinning me down
As my shadow and I
Walked about.

I was learning to say
Goodbye to my tears,
Hoping to see them
Dry away,
Knowing I had something
To say, For I had to
Get on with my life - -
Somehow! !

I've gone a thousand miles
To get nowhere,
For I have only come
Full Circle,
To be right back
Where I started!

And my heartache, still here,
Is just the same as it was - there!
No change of scene on the outside
Has changed the tears cried -
On the inside,

Nor has it mended
This broken heart,
The one which I loaned to you - -
The one you returned,
Broken into a million pieces.
