when the apple falls waste uneaten to the ground
the flesh of the decaying apple is food for the seed
flesh pulp fertiliser sows generation seed orchard

If it is the hope of writers to find readers, and the desire of writers to move those readers, then it must be the highest reward for writers to inspire other writers. I am deeply and gratefully humbled to be a part of this piece that speaks with the profound yet simple efficiency of nature itself. Nothing wasted, beautifully elegant contemplation. Bravo.
You have a beautiful insightful style Seamus, all poets worth their salt who sincerely love poetry, the words, the insightful wisdom of poetry love to read other poets, sometimes we get busy in work or our own writing, particularly those will-of-the-wisp poems and lines. To be inspired by other poets and give credit where credit is due is the joy of being part of the great tradition of poetry which upholds and esteems the work of inspiration fellow poets. It is a joy to read your poetry Seamus, you will bless many lives with the beauty of your words.
Thank you for sharing, great food for thought, awareness your little poem brought. Indeed, nature is so amazing that nothing is wasted everything does something, helps some other thing. Wonder when will we humans, learn from the nature and stop producing such incredible amount of not only useless but also very harmful waste...
yes I also grieve that so much needless pointless dangerous waste is produced, my hope is that clean technology which is less harmful and less toxic will save us, not because as we hope it is introduced to help save our beautiful planet, but because it is more efficient and more profitable and because of profit nature will soon be aided by more advanced clean technology.

Welcome back Terry, and as the apple falls, so begins the cycle of life, as you say there is not much waste in nature there is always something to feed upon it. ;) Annette.
