Waves Of Memories Poem by Jayne Louise Davies

Waves Of Memories

Wandering along the sandy beach,
Beneath the flawless sky so blue,
All alone,
A yearning to reach,
Out for your hand to walk with you.

Memories wash over me,
Like delicate waves,
That lap against the golden sand,
Thinking back to precious days,
If I could wave a magic wand,
I'd bring you back here in an instant,
Holding you tight,
Never letting go.

The sun shines down,
There's a boat in the distance,
I stand still for a minute or so.
I turn and walk away without you,
That special place we loved to go.
