We Have Made It Our Own Language After All Poem by Phillip Nine Mafunga

We Have Made It Our Own Language After All

Rating: 5.0

Memories flood my head
Memories of the good old days about my people
Where an empty bottle is just an empt'
To us it is indeed an empt because it is empty
This is what stands us out on the continent
We are Zimbabweans after all, very unique

To us every passenger minibus is a combie
Yes, it is a combie for that's what we call it
We do not have a lounge but a dining or sitting room is what we have
And we do not care what others say for we are Zimbabweans
Sorry we do not discuss things but we discuss about things here
And for that you will have to borrow me your time, sir
