We The Countrymen Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

We The Countrymen

It is how we stood at cross road
So much disgruntled and laden with load
Each side was happy to acquire power
Some parties were very much eager

It is said that they signed secret pact
For handing over political prisoners under exchange act
Netaji was falling under such category
The party at power did not feel sorry

No one seemed eager to find out
About where about
The plane crash gave clouded mystery
The correspondence remained under lock and key

The patriotic son was disliked by many
“Give me blood and I shall give you freedom” made his position stormy
He made place in million people’s heart
He remained very much in news since start

The great leader had been neglected for years
Now we hear something
That correspondence shall be declassified
We, as countrymen, shall stand satisfied
