We Were Once...Brothers And Sisters Poem by Richard Wlodarski

We Were Once...Brothers And Sisters

Rating: 5.0

We were once...brothers
Sharing the same land
Waking to the warmth
Of the summer's sun

We were once...sisters
Sharing this same land
Laying our heads
To the barren moon

We were once...
Such great sons
And daughters
Loving neighbours

We were once...lovers
Of the sun and moon
Sharing this great land
Until such high noon

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
It's tragically sinful the way the Indigenous people have been, and still are, treated in this great country of Canada.

Tragically so, Mahtab. Let's pray for change!
