What Do You Have? Poem by Bernedita Rosinha Pinto

What Do You Have?

I have with me the height of harmony
I have with me the depth of sorrow;
I have with me the flavor of love
I have with me the futility of hate;
I have with me the knowledge of divinity
I have with me the wisdom of infinity;
I have with me the blessing of legacies
I have with me the privileges of status;
I have with me the benefits of birth
I have with me the support of providence;
I have with me the treasure of prosperity
I have with me the gift of bequests;
I have with me the volume of insistence
I have with me the melody of patience;
I have with me the song of tolerance
I have with me the drums of vengeance;
I have with me the branch of peace
I have with me the weapon of amity;
I have with me the books of justice
I have with me the literature of liberty
I have with me the heart of righteousness
I have with me the emblem of conscientiousness;
I have with the solidarity of brotherhood
I have with me the respect of motherhood;
I have with me the endurance of hardships
I have with me the promise of heaven.
