What Happened To My Mom - Poem by Megan McDowell
my perfect family dinners.
the day to day talks.
my parents were divoreced.
but i still had a mom and a dad.
what happened to the woman i looked up to?
where'd she go? everything i was taught not to do,
she does. she's becoming what she raised me not to be.
she hides from the world,
digging deeper and deeper into a hole she created.
all i have left is my father,
and my wonderful stepmother he married.
i would kill for my mom back, just for her to notice i'm here.
and that i care.
I wish she could see what she's doing to my family and me.
Right now i cannot forgive her.
she needs to understand all the pain and lies she put me through.
i have no idea who this woman in front of me is,
I just want my dear mother back, the woman who raised me.
and taught me right from wrong.
