What If Poem by Josh Burnett

What If

I look at you even if it is just an image,
And I can see my life flash in that instant.
There's so much that I want to say,
But you just won't stop and listen.
Even if I begged just for a minute.
Your love could be a miracle working in me,
But instead of saying yes you lean towards the no,
And there's only one thing that I can say.

What if I held my breath,
And I didn't breathe until you said yes.
Would you fall hard for me?
And no matter how far apart we are.
I would travel all the miles to get to your heart.
What if I risked it all for you?

I'm so glad that I had the chance to know you.
Even if it was just as friends,
And I'm so glad what pain I had did mend.
I don't want to think about the outcome.
If you hadn't come,
And I'm so sad that we had to say goodbye.

But What if I held my breath,
And I didn't breathe until you said yes.
Would you fall hard for me?
And no matter how far apart we are.
I would travel all the miles to get to your heart.
What if I risked it all for you?

Girl I could love you right.
So make up your mind.
Before we run out of time.

What if I held my breath,
And I didn't breathe until you said yes.
Would you fall hard for me?
And no matter how far apart we are.
I would travel all the miles to get to your heart.
What if I risked it all for you?
