What Shall I Paint Poem by Walterrean Salley

What Shall I Paint

Rating: 5.0

Hum. A blank canvas.
What shall I paint?
The sky? The ocean?
Or something quaint?

And what fair “hues”
Shall I use?
Red and sage—
With touches of blue?

The sky’s the limit,
Whatever I chose.
And don't forget
To blend those hues.

Oh, make the lights bright,
And the darks—dark,
To contrast well
Such chosen art.
