When A House Gets Old Poem by Dorsey Baker

When A House Gets Old

When a house gets old
It's time to remodel!
The paint peels
The wood rots
The doors squeak
The floors creak
The roof leaks
And the foundation
Starts to sag!

Some people remodel
Some people leave it
Just like it is!

Exchanging old parts
For new ones!
Likewise
When the creature
Becomes it's creator!
In the act of remodeling
It becomes guilty
Of breaking
The laws of nature!
