When I Breathe Poem by Heather Z. Hanna

When I Breathe

When I breathe are you there?
In the stillness of the house as it settles,
Whether the afternoon drone of distant lawnmower
Or in the burning of a candle late at night,
I stop and listen
And feel what is around me,
And wonder,
'are you there? '

Nice depth of thought in these words. How wonderful when we can feel what is around us. As my mentor, Tony Samara says, As we make each full and complete breath with awareness we take our greatest leap towards enlightenment dis-identifying from that which limits us from being totally present. Let's keep breathing!
