When There Are Holidays Poem by Sylvia Frances Chan

When There Are Holidays

Rating: 5.0

When There Are Holidays

I put everything aside
for my loved ones across the country

a real fairytale land
never noisy or disruptive, and I never get stranded

fairground scenes, many for boys
toy-guns present for shooting the toys

during holidays, many fairgrounds arise
many boys and girls come here
enjoy the newest discoveries so wise
in the ghost house, many toddlers shed a tear

of course, the ghost house is very spooky
kids oft go with their parents, since a rooky

when there are holidays
I put everything aside
for my loved ones across the country
in every nook I visit my family
am able to do this because it's a very small country
