I still remember where I was
When I first fell in love,
I remember seeing her over there
An answer to a lonely man's prayer.
I still remember the time of day
And the week and the month I must say,
I still remember it all
And I remember what I saw.
I remember what she was wearing
At her I kept on staring,
I will always remember the clothes she wore
When I saw her in the store.
I remember how I felt
And I remember how my heart melt,
When she looked at me
All her beauty I could then see.
I remember when I asked her name
In my heart I felt a flame,
And when to me she finally spoke
My soul then immediately jumped and awoke.
She then became my inspiration
She made my foundation,
Because, of her I did create and write
And because of her my soul she did ignite.
She made me feel so alive
She gave me the push and the drive,
I treated her the way every woman should be treated
With a smile and love every day she was greeted.
Then one day unexpected she left my life
Sadness and pain and rumors were rife,
She went back to another
Who once was her lover.
I had loved her so honest and so very true
But, I guess facts I never did truly knew,
Now she is gone
Like yesterday's dawn.
No more do I ever see or hear from her
Only her and God knows what did occur,
But, I hold no regret
Because, I still remember when we met.
