When Will You Cut The Hedge? Poem by Konstantin Ananin

When Will You Cut The Hedge?

- When will you think of cutting
The hedge?
___________- When I’ve finished thinking.
- What of?
__________- Of mending the gate.
- What a voice! That sounds great!
- Are we going to have tea?
- What for?
___________- I’d love to.
______________________- You see,
Thomas, I haven’t thought of
Making it as I’ve been off
Household.
____________- But why?
_____________________- Tom,
You thought of the gate from
Breakfast till lunch…
____________________- I fell asleep.
- The gate was broken last week,
And all this long time I have seen
You thinking of it or sleeping.
So, no tea for you till
You mend it.
_____________- I’ll do soon, Jill.

humour is always brilliant. Isn't that the way? I've been thinking of doing work for days. (smiles) bright and light poem. I was wondering, do the underlines mean silence or is it to indicate the change of person?
