Your smile does always glisten
When you call yourself a devout Christian,
Especially when you go to church
And on the pew you perch.
You stand up with the congregation and a hymn you do sing
With praises to our Lord and King,
I wonder if you ever truly listen to them
When you sing any religious hymn.
No hymns sung are about supporting evil or sin
Or how in life we should allow hate in,
Or how we should hate all foreigners in this land
And to give them the boot and not a helping hand.
I wonder the sadness of the Holy Ghost
Whenever he reads a racist or a hateful post,
When it's not about helping the lost or the poor and needy
And never about the evils of the rich and the greedy.
Jesus never spoke of murder or ridicule or mockery or hate
Or how that we should accuse or retaliate,
And that we should hate our sisters and/ or our brothers
And revenge should always be our druthers.
Jesus our Lord who you say that you follow
Those words of yours are indeed are hard to swallow,
Because, I have seen and read what you truly believe
The Lord you will not ever deceive.
Sadly you always smile ear to ear
Whenever you post hate and judgments and also fear,
When you ignore what Jesus had said
I wonder do you say a prayer when you go to bed.
You don't treat others how the Lord said they should be treated
Instead them you decry they should be defeated,
And if they come from a different place
You hate them because of their home or of their race.
I wonder from what Bible that you read
Because, of it or in it I will not or do not heed,
When Jesus said to turn the other cheek
I wonder if you even do and what that you truly seek.
How can you call yourself a good Christian person
If I could, you I would be cursin'
Whenever I see you, in my soul there is now no more of a suspicion
How dare you call yourself a Christian.
