When You Speak Poem by Phillip Nine Mafunga

When You Speak

Fallow is the land
Hallow therefore the hand
That sends those that perish to the end
Whom the naked truth can't stand

We stand and watch the savages
Our being livelihoods ravaged
And the very colour of love damaged
File or pile up; be lucky if left bandaged

Our souls roam the bare veld in search of grass
All there's but a sorrowful ideological crass
Decision time: do we die here or we pass
The answer is in the populace; the mass
